Alcantara, on the A376/C-3. The path through the Sierra Bermeja
Mountains is very dramatic and sometimes daunting if it's your first
time on mountain roads, but the town is accessible all year long.
If you fly to Spain via Malaga, you

more sedate route on the A357, bypassing towns such as Carratraca,
Ardales, and Cuevas de Becerra.
There's also a more dramatic path
from San Luis de Sabanillas, which is west of Estepona, taking the
A377 via Gaucin and Casares and onto Ronda, but you do need to take
your time and be patient with the goats crossing the road and locals
taking their time to move out of your way!
There are also daily train
connections from Granada, Malaga, Algeciras, and Seville, and then
you can get a taxi directly to your
